I have noticed a slight clonk when braking. It only occurs once during a breaking manoeuvre, and may not repeat for another 5 -10 breaking manoeuvres. I have tried to induce the noise by hard braking without success. The noise appears to come from the rear, near side wheel and there is no discernible movement or change to the cars handing. Define “clonk” = has a hollow ring, similar to driving over a loose manhole cover.
Any ideas of the likely cause?
