Originally the road fund licence exempted cars over 25 years old, but this was 
subsequently changed to cars built pre 1973. I guess the lessons learnt there 
are being applied here so, for the foreseeable future, will only apply to 
pre-1960 vehicles. In time perhaps the powers-that-be will see sense and change 
the relevant dates (when we're all too old to care!)

This refers to vehicles built before 1960,
ie. 52 years old.
 
So shouldn’t all vehicles be exempt when
they become 52 years old?
