You're lucky you have a recommended figure! 

 

My '73  4/4/4 handbook says 18psi for normal driving and 24psi for fast
motoring (165/80x15 tyres).

 

Quite a difference! I used to use about 22psi on the road and 30-35psi for
sprinting and hillclimbing etc.

My 4/4 has 195/60 X 15 tyres, the recommended pressure is 22psi. For the
recent BHM trackday I increased this to 28 all round. After the track time I
drove back home on this higher pressure. What are the pros and cons of using
higher pressures on the road and what do you Mogtalkers run at?
