I take your point but it is for Charles to answer not me.

I will leave Charles* to reply to your comments re editorial but we signed
Miscellany off on 25th May so I am a bit surprised that my advance copies
have not arrived yet but todays post has not been delivered as yet. With
the extended bank holiday it could be Wednesday or later.

However on a related point the increase in postal costs, totally beyond our
control, will add 8 pence per issue per member, nearly one pound a year.

Did you read the many posts from those that had submitted articles and
emailed the editor to have no reply, no contact no rejection, no reasons why
articles have not been published. You respond to this thread very late so
maybe you missed the earlier posts some weeks ago but most were about a lack
of publishing of articles that had been submitted in response to a request
for articles, then no answers to emails asking how the article could be
improved to meet the editors requirements? WE requested guidelines on what
is required and the content the editor would like, sadly there has been no
reply to this either, maybe it will be in a future issue but my June edition
has not arrived yet.

The attempt was to improve the magazine for all and many of the posters have
submitted many articles over the years,

Quite right. I wonder how many of those who have nit-picked over the content
of our club magazine have actually put pen to paper or indeed even thought
of writing an article for possible publication. It is not quite as easy as
you may think. I have not a lot of time for armchair critics. I look forward
to the next issue.
