Hi.

I use mon to control an ipvsadm loadbalancer. It works fine except on
one host where I get the following errors...

rx4 mon[2195]: failure for websrv01 https 1081347912 192.168.1.3
rx4 mon[2195]: not alerting for failure of websrv01/https
rx4 mon[2195]: failure for websrv02 https 1081347923 192.168.1.4
rx4 mon[2195]: calling alert ipvsadm_8.alert for websrv02/https
(/usr/lib/mon/alert.d/ipvsadm_8.alert,) 192.168.1.4
rx4 modprobe: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20040407.log Permission denied
rx4 modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module ip_vs
rx4 modprobe: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20040407.log Permission denied
rx4 modprobe: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20040407.log Permission denied
rx4 modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module ip_vs
rx4 modprobe: modprobe: cannot create /var/log/ksymoops/20040407.log Permission denied

and the alert is not executed. I don't know where the error is, but calling
/usr/lib/mon/alert.d/ipvsadm_8.alert -h 192.168.1.4
manually on the shell doesn't produce the modprobe errors and does execute the alert.
(ip_vs is compiled into the kernel(2.4.25))

Help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Sebastian Wiesinger
