How do I do to get the mon log (instead of searching in the syslog)

What logging do you want? Mon provides both downtime logs and alert histories. These must be enabled via mon config options. Take a look at the documentation for mon, in particular the documentation for 'dtlogging', 'dtlogfile', 'logdir', 'monerrfile', 'histlength' and 'historicfile'.
