Eric, thanks for the detailed reply and the proxy_hide_header tip. We used proxy_hide_header to remove the Status header from our responses. After the change our client continued to receive the same error so I’m pretty sure that the Status header was never the problem in this case. Sorry for raising this issue unnecessarily.
