I know that this question has been asked many times in the past and that people have been advised to remove .monit.id file.
Hoever, I have problems registering Springdale Linux (Princeton RedHat clone) hosts running Monit with the evaluation version of M/Monit. I tried running M/Monit even on the local machine but avail. I have no problems registering OpenBSD and FreeBSD hosts so the configuration files can't be the issue. I have also removed usual suspect .monit.id file before starting things.
