Thanks, the fix did work ok.
Now the next problem is that the server does not deliver any data,
it just closes the connection without returning anything.
$ telnet 127.0.0.1 2001
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to 127.0.0.1.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
