Hello everybody!

My name is Thanasis Halas and i am studying computer science in the
Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, Kapodistrian University
of Athens, Greece. At the moment i am at the end of my studies so i have
covered many classes on programming, networks, algorithms and etcetera,
thats why i started searching among the organizations participating on gsoc
2013, looking for projects that i can work on using the knowledge that i
have received all these years. Monkey organization was unknown to me before
gsoc but i am willing to learn much more about it.

While i was going through the organization's projects list on your web
page, what got my attention is the project called "Caching Filesystem". I
find this one very interesting because it combines file-system and
argorithmic issues, which are issues that i study about and in my opinion
are very exciting, so this is a chance for me to work on them more. Another
reason was that i have good knowledge on C language, i am familiar with
algorithms (which is a field that never ends). IA also have done
programming for linux operating systems (for the class name Operating
Systems) so i have the basic skills required.

Of course there are things that i need to study more in order to complete
such project, but i am sure that with your help and my hard work i can make
it. Ι have started searching through the internet but i also would like to
ask if you could give me or propose me seome reading material about the
tasks of the project, in order to fill in an application that covers this
tasks extensively.
