Hi,
I'm Snigdha Petluru, doing my undergraduation in Information
Technology in India. While browsing through the GSOC list of mentoring
organizations, I came across your ideas list and among them, I would like
to work on enhancing the API and implementing Python bindings as described
in the page.
While I'm not very familiar with profiling, I use Linux and am
aware of its working, customization and shell scripting. Will it be okay if
I learn about profiling starting now, until the initial stage of
acceptance? I have learnt Java and C as a part of my academic curriculum,
so implementing C code will not really take up too much time I hope. I also
am familiar with Python, though not as well as C or Java. However, I do
know the basics and can write decent code, and I hope to catch up really
soon with some online resources.
I was introduced to Free and Open Source software by an
organization called Swecha, here in India. I took part in a 15 day camp
that introduced various open source alternatives. Since then, I've been
hooked to this philosophy and model of development. While I am relatively
new to the open source coding scene, I'm learning and trying to catch up
fast.
I've started reading the API and am currently downloading the
code to dig in further. Could I get any suggestions on what I should
probably look at to get some ideas?
Thanks :)
Cheers,
Snigdha
