Hi Folks,

if you are a GSoC student this information is relevant for you. Otherwise
you can stop reading now.

On Monday 10th, Google Melange site will be opened to start receiving
proposal submissions from students. Based on our experience in GSoC we
suggest you dont miss the following:

 - When you submit your proposal, this can be edited many times as required
until the application period close.

 - As earlier you submit your proposal, is better for all of us, you will
get feedback from the mentors team, so you will be able to improve it.

 - When Mentors team send feedback from Melange, we expect that after you
do some modification you let us know about it in the comments section.
Knowing that you are taking in count our suggestions, is a good sign.

 - Quality: we want quality, we need to make sure you understand the
problem to solve and see that you have invested some time proposing a good
solution.

 - Patches: we have see there is some patches around which is very good!,
please keep contributing. If your patches have not been merged, please
review the comments and proceed to follow the suggestion. If the patch is
rejected, do not take it personal, sometimes it works, sometimes don't.

 - Community: you are applying to a formal Open Source Organization, so you
aim to be part and contribute with a community, do not forget that.

just good luck, do your best in your application period (not just the
forms, get involved!), we want to hear from you,

cheers!
