Hi, the student application period is now closed, no more proposals will be received. We appreciate the effort of everyone that dedicated some time to write the proposal, contact mentors and also who invest time getting involved with the community.
As organization we got a total of 23 proposals, 21 are active and 2 were withdrawn by the authors. What's next ?, we will review the proposals carefully, rate them and discuss which ones should join the program. As a reminder, the selection criteria it's not just about the proposal, it involves student effort, community involvement, skills, project description, timeline, motivation and many other factors. In the meantime after a round of reviews, you as a student MAY receive a request from us to edit your proposal, this is just in case a target student that need to clarify something about the future project. Just stay tuned to your inbox in case this happens. About the number of slots, we, as an organization, will decide in priority order which student should join the program this year, once we clarify that, we ask Google for a number of slots, and depending of the number of slots assigned to our organization we will assigned back to the students. So there are two factors: chosen students in priority order and slots available. The results will be published by Google on "check the FAQ on Melange". Please don't try to pursue mentors to obtain private info, this is a Google Policy so we will not disclose any information, i know you will get a bit anxious but try to relax, we expect you stay around and continue contributing to the organization. If you have any question which is NOT "how is my proposal?", feel free to ask.
