I don't exactly how much stuff have been implemented in mono. There are some thing that I like to see in mono. I want to see a system wide api in Mono (sonthing like System.linux or linux.system). By using this u can handle any kind of stuff on linux. Everything (i.e. services, cronjobs, even kernel resources etc ) on linux can be handled directly without calling any other api (or system call). Second thing I like to see that windows forms render form in native window manager ( if I'm running kde it will look like native kde app and if i'm running gnome it look like a native gnome app.)
