You're not supposed to update a stable Mono from daily packages because there are interdependencies between the runtime and the class libraries that are not resolved by those dailies. It's only safe to update single non-core assemblies (e.g. System. Windows.Form, a rather seldom updated assembly), but even then, there is absolutely no warranty that your Mono is still working after an update.
