Mono existed before Silverlight for OSX existed, and unlike Silverlight for OSX, it has no limitations on which folders you can access, so we believe that we should keep compatibility with existing Mono users on Mac, as opposed to keeping *some* limited compatibility with people trying to move their code from Silverlight/OSX to MacOS. The reality is that if you are moving your code form Silverlight/OSX to Mono on OSX, you will have to do a significant amount of work in redoing your UI logic anyways, so you might as well just do this change as part of the process. The advantage for us is that we do not break existing code that predates Silverlight. Miguel
