Perhaps this could be fit into the docs somehow, maybe as a tutorial inYeah, I was thinking along those lines. It would not be difficult to make a 10 page tutorial out of it.

The build requirements on blam look a little steep for beginners, unless I'm overestimating mozembed and sqlite install/config. Haven't done those myself so I may be way off. Something like this would certainly go along way toward easing those build requirements:
