if so, you have to add /sw/lib to DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH instead of /usr/local/lib

Yes, I think I had this problem at some point. Set LD_LIBRARY_PATH since you're talking about .so libraries here. Renaming them to dylib won't help, they're not dylibs. So set LD_LIBRARY_PATH the same way you set DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH. Let me know if that fixes it.

Rob suggested to export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib, it didn't help either. (i edited /sw/etc/lib/mono/config, .so* -> .dylib already)
any ideas, Urs did you get further?
