Martin:

I am including a link to a picture of a X terminal session between my Windows 2K Server box running MS SQL Server 2K and a Linux box running SuSE 9.0.

When I snapped that screen shot I was running sqlsharpgtk fresh from CVS.

I have had no problems with it.

If you can tell us more, I will be glad to keep on trouble shooting..

Paco

PS
Thank you Atsushi Enomoto and Eric Gonia for staying envolved.

Hi list,

I installed the updated sqlsharpgtk from anon-cvs, and successfully build
it.
But when I run some a little more complex queries against MS-SQL Server 7
the program just hangs in my Suse 9 box.
If I run the same query from win32/isql I got the results without a problem.
The query is as simple as "select * from products where name like
'tennis%'".
The expected result-set is about 100 rows long.
Other simpler queries work just fine.

Any help will be great.

Martin

Hello Paco, Eric,

Sorry for being late.
The patches looks fine - I could manage to run them (with Paco's
nice how-to description :-). I will commit your patches.

Thanks,
Atsushi Eno

There doesn't seem to be any overlap between the changes I proposed and
the ones included with your most recent posting.. I will look at files
you have included to try to see if I can apply them and maybe we can
consolidate all of these modifications for the time being.

I don't think that there is a product defined in the bug database for
sqlsharpgtk. I did some searching myself to see if the patches I was
submitting could correct an existing bug, but I did not find a match for
the product.

As I stated in some earlier postings to the mailing list, I have a
personal interest and vision for sqlsharpgtk. I have recently
corresponded with the Mono developer that has been taking care of this
module and he says that he will welcome patches.

Here are also some patches for sqlsharpgtk that I sent in Febuary. They
were not applied and I did not receive feedback on them. Please advise
as to what I should do differently to submit patches. Should I file a
bug report first, and then attach the patches?

The patch for gtk-sharp 0.17 probably overlaps the one sent by
Francisco. Ignore this one for now.

Thanks,
Eric

Attached are three patches for sqlsharpgtk. I am guessing this would be
the list to post these to instead of mono-devel since they are dealing
with a tool and not directly with mono.

gtkupgrade.diff
Upgrade to gtk-sharp 0.17

editorfix.diff
Fix problem with returns at the end of a line in the Sql Editor.
Fix highlight and type over problem.

openreaderfix.diff
Fix reader left open after update sql statements run.

This is my first time to contribute changes back to an open source
project so it is very possible I have done this wrong, so please feel
free to correct me or provide suggestions on how to submit or create
these in the future.

Eric
