I use automake 1.8.5-2 (from debian). Could you please try to upgrade your version of automake and run the autogen.sh script once more ? > autoheader (GNU Autoconf) 2.59 > autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.59 The autoconf version looks good, i use this one. Upgrading your automake version should allow you to go further into the compilation process.
