IMHO it would be nice to also help people who grab mod_mono 1.0.5 (source) and apache-dev (pseudo-source :-) from some distribution CD. An embedded runtime could also be used to implement the inter-machine communication, but would probably be somewhat heavy-weight for that purpose compared to the current lean mod_mono shared lib.
