Or maybe you had yet another broken glib install that was used before the one in /usr/lib, or you overwrote the version in /usr/lib with a broken version. There are also many other ways you can screw up a system, I'm not going to enumerate them all. It's still only a problem on your broken install and it doesn't have anything to do with mono.
