Thanks for the response.

I was able to use yum to get the latest rpm's (mono  1.9.1 ) installed, but
I'm curious to know what would have been the approach at resolving this
issue of  dependancy/mismatch without breaking other programs that depended
on mono-1.2.4 and libexif.so.9 if I didn't have the yum installer at my
disposal?

FYI: I'm relatively new to Linux.
