1. Sometimes you actually want to reply privately. Munging the Reply-To header makes this more difficult. 2. Redundancy. Sometimes the mail server is down or slow. Getting two messages is thus an advantage if you’re waiting for a response, as you’re not waiting on any delays in the listserv software. 3.
