[Mono-list] Mono and X

I am semi-new to mono (i am a software developer using ms visual c# on the microsoft platform) but i have created a few console applications using mono on my linux box. I would like to create some applications with mono for "x". I guess my first question is can it be done yet? And my next question is are there any tutorials or walkthroughs? Thanks for your time.
