It's only october so september wasn't that long ago.:) Anyway it's still an active project so please feel free to contribute to vbnc. Note that vbnc is self hosting on MS.NET but it's still unable to bootstrap on Mono. That is mainly caused by bugs in Mono but I recently reallized that vbnc itself contains some code that assumes MS.NET and that has to be modified to be runtime independent as well.
