Only the components of it that require external (.so) libraries. We still use its formatting library and a bunch of data structure classes, and perhaps some others. You should be able to get away with a partial installation (for instance, on my Debian box, I need only libboost-dev, not any libboost-<thing>-dev). > it's back, and for some silly reasons? zlib?
