Monotouch itself went from an initial beta around the start of August 09 to 1.0 somewhere in the middle of October 09 if I recall correctly. If they are pulling all or most of the team from Monotouch to redo what they did before, I cannot imagine it taking that different of a time frame...

I would go with option 1, but the danger is that we don't know how many months it will take for Xamarin to release .Net for iOS Thanks, JD On 25 May 2011 10:16, Jason Awbrey <[email protected]> wrote: options as I see them 1. if you have several months, use the MT trial and then switch to Xamarin when it is available 2. if you don't have several months, you could try buying a license and hope that the purchase and activation process really goes smoothly 3. learn obj-c 4. try partnering with someone who already has a working license - you could develop using the trial version for development, and then use that partner's license for deployment and testing On Tue, May 24, 2011 at 7:11 PM, James Darbyshire <[email protected]> wrote: Hi guys, This has probably been asked before but I have just joined the monotouch list. As a company of C# developers, we have a need to develop an iPad application within the next month. Would it be foolish for us to buy and adopt monotouch for this venture?
