Hi James, You are correct, there is currently a bug in 2.8b1 that causes this behaviour. This has been fixed (you can see the bug report here http://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734) and will be in the next version of the MonoDevelop 2.8 betas.
