Problem is I don’t think this ever fires. From what I can see, the app does not go into the background on these devices (certainly not on the CEO’s iPad). I know this because in my DidEnterBackground, I stop my timer – however I can get him to close the lid on his iPad, and it continues to call the server in the timer events. Later versions of the OS (5 and up) do not do this – they put the app in the background.
