This feature-length documentary, which stunned audiences at the 2006
Sundance Film Festival, examines the physical, mental and spiritual
cost of war as it looks at how our soldiers are trained to kill, and
the effects of killing and combat on soldiers (and their familes)
returning from the Iraq War. Filmmaker Patricia Foulkrod's subjects
are patriotic young Americans, articulating their stories on camera -
ordinary men and women who heeded the call for military service in
Iraq. The film charts recruitment and training, combat, homecoming,
and the struggle to reintegrate with families and communities. The
terrible conflict in Iraq, depicted with ferocious honesty in the
film, is a prelude for the even more challenging battles fought by
the soldiers returning home - battles with personal demons, an
uncomprehending public, and an indifferent government. This is a
special ONE TIME ONLY FREE SCREENING, with a suggested donation of
$5, a portion of which will benefit the "Vets for! Vets" organization.
