Synopsis:
Premiering in 2001 and now in its fourth action-packed installment,
UnderSkatement Volume 4 is a traveling (or more appropriately, a “
rollingÂ’) film festival showcasing the best short films (seven
minutes and under) made by skateboarders from around the world.
Starting in December 2007, the festival will ramp up and hit over 30
U.S. cities (including Tucson) as it seeks to unite the worlds of
cinema and skateboarding in a totally radical display of off-the-hook
cultural synergy.
All genres of film will be represented in this 90 minute movie
extravaganza, running the gamut from short skate videos to
documentaries, from music videos to narratives, horror to animation
to political commentary, experimental video art to lowbrow and no-
brow comedy.
Bridging the gap that (unnecessarily) exists between skateboard films
and "legit" cinema, UnderSkatement, which has in the past showcased
the film work of such skateboarding legends as Mark Gonzales, Dan
Vellucci, Corey Adams, Laban Pheidias, Dan Wolf, Buddy Nichols and
more, is a "must see" fest for any film fan (with or without a
skateboard) interested in the cutting-edge of independent cinema.
The festival's San Francisco-based masterminds, David Franklin and
Andreas Trolf, will be on hand at this screening to introduce the
films and break it all down.

Originals and Slap skateboard magazine.
