I'm planning to refurbish my 83 M-15 trailer. The body of the trailer is
sound but just about everything bolted on is rusted and will need to be
replaced. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I observed in the photos on the Vince and Sharon site that the new trailers
have the winch mounted higher up on a tall frame that is used to hold the
mast when being towed. I'm considering constructing this myself and bolting
it to the trailer.

How high relative to the bow of the boat should the winch be?

The boat has no eye-hook so I just tie the line from the winch to the bow
cleats. Is that optimum?

Also does anyone have advice on adding guides to make putting the boat on
the trailer easier?

As always, thanks,

Dave Rossi
M-15
