My SONY CD player is great, and doubles as the CD input to my Hi-Fi at home. Now just get the small SONY speakers - about $5.- and you have music in the cockpit while sailing. If they get wet and eventually give up the ghost, well, they only cost $5.-! Much better than using headphones.
