Hi Shawn, I recall seeing the water generator too, but the tinkerers probably gave up on it because as alternator output increases so does the prop drag. You are adding a brake to the boat.
Because of that, I think the boys all went with the wind driven versions of generators: They work at anchor when you need power, and you can stow them while sailing.
