Don, I have had problems with my M15 centerboard sticking too. If I do not fully retract the cb when recovery, the trailer rollers push the board up and it jams stuck with the knot on the pendant. On the next launch, the cb will not drop and I either have to dive under and pull it out, or take it home and jack the boat up a couple of inches until it drops.
The best solution is to have the cb fully up and secured when loading the boat onto the trailer. I do not have any holes like you describes so it would be interesting to see them on the MSOG site.
