Ron & Cathryn; There is a public ramp on Tomales Bay at the north end. I have left my car in the parking lot overnight with no problems, there is a charge. For San Francisco Bay I launch at the Richmond ramp but I have never left the car overnight except when I had a berth there and could leave it in the berthers lot in plan sight. You can sail in the lee of Angel Island and there is a long breakwater at Brooks Island with a nice broad reach. Watch for tankers and weird currents near Angel Island and Raccoon Strait. Be sure and get a current chart and stay clear of the shipping lanes. I like to sail both bays in the winter when things aren't quite as rough. Reef early. I don't have any info on the delta but people that go love it.
