Jerry, I would STRONGLY advise against it. I have seen two M15's with separation at the hull/deck joint (above transom) due to this practice. The joint is not bolted at this point (at least not on the M15), and the leverarm provided by the bracket works the transom, and in turn the joint. It just isn't worth it.
