Hello Mr.Lang   You may want to make things really easy on yourself by taking the boat to a yard and using their hoist. They usually will have all the necessary tools at hand to make quick work of the task. Also this method is sure to maintain that all to important household harmony   I am currently awaiting an estimate on the fabrication of a new stainless steel centerboard. I have a 1977 M17 Flushdeck. The previous owner did little to protect this vital part of the boat. the boat was slipped in saltwater for well over five years resulting in a heavily corroded centerboard. Prone to sticking and really slowed the boat down. The board was pulled and sandblasted revealing what looks life the surface of Mars. I have thought of using an adhesive epoxy to fill an fair the board. then seal with a layer of glass.
