Monty 17 owners , Can someone explain how to do a search of the past emails for this forum on the centerboard of the M17, I would like to find the "exact shape, thickness and taper" in any, plus any photo's would be nice also. and the exact weight of the board, the position and size of pin, etc. I have an email saying the older steel boards weighted in at about 165 lbs before 1987.
After doing a lot of testing on a small model I think I have come up with way to fix the problem of the older keel/centerboard. Because I'm sure that this has all been heard before you can email me direct so the other M17 owners will not be upset with any repeating emails on the subject, if this works out OK I will share any information with those who have the same problems. The nice thing is that it would mean all the older M17 that are in question can be rescued. I have some diagrams but I'm unsure how to get put them on the web for viewing.
