There is a clear teflon tape sold by Catalina dealers which works
great to smooth the sliding action of the companionway hatch on my
SunCat. It is not so slippery as to cause problems with a sloppy hatch.
The tape has lasted two seasons without apparent wear. It was costly,
as it was sold by the foot. As I recall, it was about $10 or $15 for
the two 3-foot lengths I needed.
