Hi Rusty,
I tried it several times without success in light air at my local lake. It worked
like a charm in slightly stronger winds at the CBR. Not sure if wind speed is a
factor or if it just takes some time to get the hang of it.
I pinch and slow the boat down as much as possible before that final tack. I think I
luff the main slightly. I have to tie the tiller off at an extreme angle, the tiller
extension in the lock box does not give enough of an angle.
You can also heave to with the main eased if the jib comes down, but that is another
story.
