Sure.  My point was I guess that if I was looking at Cape Dorys, I'd be looking at the 
25d, not the Typhoon or Weekender.  Your're right, there is no comparison between 
either boat and an M17.

I had the Cape Dory 25 to and it was  an easy boat to handle, would steer
itself easily and hove too like a baby going to sleep I  sailed it from San
Francisco to La Paz ,Mexico and back in 1985, but she was a much heavier
boat and trying to compare to the lighter - shallower hulls I think  is
unrealistic.
