Hi to all, Got rid of my West Wight Potter "Feather." She was a P-15, sail number 2074 and in excellent condition. Like many others, I bought her before sailing one and boy I was disappointed. I kept her for about 6 months. I made lots of great modifications in the attempt to try to make her feel safe. In the end I even got into trouble with the Potter Forum because I used the word "Fragile" instead of "Tender." Oh well... The reason I'm looking at the M-15 is because she is also very portable -- just like the P-15. However, I've been assured the similarities end right there. With the P-15, I felt I had to stay very cautious (nerve racking) because here in our SF Bay the winds can kick up a bit and more than one P-15 has ended up with the wet side up. Not my idea of fun. So, I need some thoughts from those of you who have converted to the M-15, from other makes of simular craft. I've as yet to see the M-15, up close and personal and this time I feel a need to sail one prior to my order. If anyone can help with a test sail. I'd be happy to show gratitude. I'm quite willing to travel a couple (few) hours to sail on the M-15. I've included contact information. I curently am a Teamster and drive a Cement Mixer Truck. I've had a few of other jobs... building custom wood, McKenzie River Drift Boats with Don Hill in Eugene Oregon. Whiteware river guide General manager in the automotive repair industry and a certified Hypnotist... How about that for varied. I've found I get bored easily. I learned to sail a few years ago at "Tradewinds" in Pt. Richmond, CA. I've sailed Catalina 22, 25 and 27's and Ericson 27's and I've spent a fair amount of time on a Nor'Sea 27 which I recently sold for my sister in Port Angeles, WA. I have always felt an attachment with the water from the time I was young being brought up swimming in the Rogue River of Oregon.
