Returned home today to find the 2004 updates to the Great Lakes Cruising Club log books in my mailbox and a batch of charts and sailing directions for the North Channel next to the door.
Naturally, I spread the charts out. A fellow could get LOST among all those islands and spend the rest of his days wandering around never seeing the same place twice. It will probably be chilly, but that should mean more anchorages shared with only the loons and other wildlife. Last year I saw fox, eagle, snake, etc. Hopefully this year a bear will put in an appearance. I plan to be prepared with better photo equipment this year.
