To my knowledge, no M15 or 17 came with a dedicated preventer. Certainly easy enough to rig one. On our M15 I use a shackle in the aft hole in the shroud chain plate (I rig the shroud from the forward hole, obviously) combined with my boom vang. It's easy to disconnect my boom vang from the foot of the mast and move it to the plate, which is what I do.
