Gary and all, Yes, it was a very strange experience, but somehow appropriate for sailing. One has time to tune in to what's around you without being distracted by where you're headed in a big hurry. Time to "be" where you are. As I was sailing up the thoroughfare to the upper lake a couple weeks ago, barely moving at all, a powerboat idled by and a lady on board ventured to say "Looks like you're getting nowhere fast." I smiled and replied "That's OK, I'm right where I want to be." It seems to me that they're the ones "getting nowhere fast". As far as experiencing a M17, there's the Potter/Monty rally coming up in a couple weeks at Farragut State Park on Pend Oreille Lake. It officially starts on Friday the 20th and runs through Sunday the 22nd, but some of us will be there early. Randy Graves is launching Weds., and I'll be there Thurs eve. or Fri. morning. A few other Montys are possibly coming. I don't know how many Potters. Should be fun.
