When comparing the Honda 2hp with the Yamaha 2.5, it should be noted the additonal 10 pounds makes a difference with how deep the prop is below the waterline. I was a little surprised how much deeper the prop is with the Yamaha.
I've been sailing on S. San Francisco Bay out of Redwood City the past couple weeks. The Yamaha has been terrific, although I've not had to experience much chop nor have I motored against more than a 2 knot current. My Honda is also having problems with the exhaust not being water cooled due to some problem with pumping. It's a '92, I believe.
