Bill is right. The mount on my 1981 model is visibly shorter than some of the newer boats. I haven't measured the difference.
No way would my short-shaft Honda lock down, even with a board extender. It dragged on starboard tacks. I have since added an adjustable mount. John, When you can, please measure the distance from the hull to the outside edge of the mount. Could be there is a small difference in some of them. I know on the P-15, it works the same way, some can some can't tilt & lock the motor. A measurement may help to find out the difference.
