You're a rare man, Mr. Benneck. I hope you continue to post to the list.
Good luck to you.

M-15 Sequel

Hi gang,
As I was working on my M15 before launching it this year, climbing up and
down my ladder, loading the boat, I was accosted by a strange looking man
with long seaweed for hair and carrying a trident with a nice rock bass
impaled on the tines. He was also accompanied by a few
mermaids.............
He had been watching me load the boat and noticing the perspiration on my
forehead, and the sweat stains on my shirt, handed me a cold Forster
beer. He introduced himself as Neptune, God of the Waters, and wanted to
have a heart to heart talk with me
As I gratefully accepted the beer, in our current 90+ degree heat, he
asked me to sit down in the shade of the tree and reflect..............
What, kind of reflection, I asked?
He took a long drink from his can of Forsters, and looked at me and then
asked; "Just how old are you now?" "84" I replied. Then he asked,
"Does the Admirable still like to go sailing after her hip replacement
operation?" and I had to say "No".
"Well," was his next question, "just how long do you think you can keep
sailing? ...and I had to answer truthfully, that it was beginning to be
a bit of a chore. My mind said I was 30, well, OK, maybe 40, but the
body just giggled.
That got me to seriously thinking that it was time to swallow the anchor
and give up "big" boat sailing.
Therefore, I am planning to sell my M15 #400, LEPPO around mid September
to the highest bidder.
If anyone is interested, or knows someone who might be interested, please
contact me off line, and I can supply all the details of the boat;
equipment; and the trailer and what I did with it - 8 foot trailer tongue
extension and keel guides...........
What I will be selling, is not only a boat and it's trailer, but all the
ancillary equipment needed: a second (bent) mast to use as a ridge pole
for the winter cover; a ridge pole support; the winter cover; boat
equipment, including a Magellan GPS, a Standard hand held VHF radio; a
propane stove; three anchors with chain and rodes; tool boxes for the
boat with tools and spare parts; and a tool box for the trailer with
tools and spare parts.
Everything you need to be totally self sufficient.
Getting old is not for the faint hearted.
Connie
Silence, as we continued to look into and appreciate the cold beer.
